Firm Overview

The law firm of Susan E. Donner, in Norfolk, Virginia, represents clients with divorcereal estate and wills and trust needs. I also represent people who have been denied disability claims under ERISA or through an employer provided disability policy.

I practice throughout the Hampton Roads area, including Norfolk, Suffolk, Isle of White,Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Hampton and Newport News. I am licensed in all courts in the state of Virginia.

At the law firm of Susan E. Donner, I work hard to be approachable. Divorce work can be contentious, but I emphasize the compassionate side of divorce representation. I care about the emotional impact of divorce and work with my clients to bring about the result that is in the best interests of their family and their relationship with their children.

My divorce and family law includes divorce, separation and all of the legal issues that result from divorce and separation. I represent men and women in divorce, separation, custody, visitation and support matters. I emphasize the emotional and human impact of divorce. I understand that cooperation is often preferable to litigation, particularly in how it impacts future relationships with children and ex-spouses.

I have worked on many military divorces and understand the unique factors that come into play when one of the parties is active duty military.

I review and prepare all the paperwork necessary to complete all types of residential real estate transactions, from purchases and sales to construction and development. In my real estate practice, I review and draft mortgage agreements, notes, liens and deeds. I will prepare you for a problem-free closing.

My wills and trusts practice includes advising clients about the advantages of wills or trusts, including living wills, revocable living trusts, general and medical powers of attorney and marital or pre-nuptial agreements. I can also assist you through the probate process, should you have a will that needs to be probated. I have often served as a registered agent for non-residents who have interests in a will or estate in Virginia.

Contact me to see if you qualify for a free initial consultation. Evening and weekend meetings are available by appointment only.
